1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using College Compass ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Who can use College Compass
College Compass is intended for high school students, their families, and educators. If you are under 13, you may only use College Compass with a parent or guardian's permission.
3. Your account
You are responsible for your login credentials and for all activity that happens under your account. Keep your password secure and notify us if you suspect unauthorized access.
4. Your content
Essays, notes, and other content you create in College Compass belong to you. You grant College Compass a limited license to store and display that content solely to operate the Service for you. We do not sell your content or use it to train third-party models.
5. Acceptable use
Don't use College Compass to submit content that is illegal, harmful, harassing, or that infringes someone else's rights. Don't attempt to break, probe, or overload the Service.
6. AI features
College Compass includes AI-assisted tools (feedback, brainstorming, chance estimates). AI output can be wrong or incomplete. Treat it as a suggestion, not authoritative advice. Always verify admissions data with the school directly.
7. Not affiliated
College Compass is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by The Common Application, the College Board, or any college or university.
8. Termination
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
9. Disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee admission outcomes, deadline accuracy, or uninterrupted availability.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, College Compass is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. If we make material changes, we'll post a notice in the app or by email.
